| Description |
This happy, loyal affectionate breed makes an excellent family pet. They were bred as companion dogs and in turn they enjoy companionship and being with their family. They are best suited for homes with older, well behaved children because of their size. They can do well with other pets and dogs, particularly those that are close to their size. They have an energy level that is moderate to high and require regular exercise and play (they love playtime). They also enjoy relaxing with their family as well. They are generally a quiet breed but will alert you if someone new is coming, making them a good watchdog. |

As with any small breed with their facial structure they are prone to respiratory problems and will probably wheeze and snore. Minor eye problems and problems with heart disease and distemper. They are also prone to hypoglycemia when they are older. |
