| Description |
This gentle, loving, intelligent
breed is rated as one of the best large dogs to have as a family pet.
They are terrific with children and other dogs. They are great most of
the time with other pets although they might have some conflict with birds
and small animals because of their hunting history, so early socialization
is recommended with small pets. You won't find a dog easier to train than
the Golden Retriever. They love to learn and they learn fast. They aim
to please. They have a fair amount of energy, especially when they are
younger. They require regular exercise and play. The Golden Retriever
makes an excellent hunting companion as well. |
| Health |
An overall healthy breed. Minor
problems with hip dysplasia, eye problems, skin allergies and heart disease. |
