| Origin |
This breed originated in Germany
in the late 1800s. It is believed to be a cross between German Pinschers
and Rottweilers, Greyhounds, Beaucerons and a Black and Tan Terrier. They
are named after their creator, Louis Dobermann and were bred to be guard
and watch dogs.

| Description |
Energetic, strong and loyal, the
Doberman Pinscher is a natural guard. They do well with children and pets
when they have been socialized from puppyhood. They are better of children
who are a little older as they have a playful side and are a larger dog.
They need regular exercise and room to roam. They like outside play and
exercise, but need inside time too, particularly in colder climates. Sweet
and gentle, the Doberman Pinscher is often mistakenly thought to be a
very aggressive dog. They are extremely protective by nature and will
not hesitate to protect their family and home if they feel there is a
threat, but otherwise they can be described as almost docile.
