| Description |
Bred as a protector of flock,
the Central Asian Shepherd Dog makes an excellent watchdog. They are an
independent but loyal breed and will fight for their family or home if
they feel there is a threat. They can do well with other pets or dogs,
unless they feel threatened by them, so early socialization is a must.
They do best with older, well behaved children and should not be left
alone with young children that they don't know. They need plenty of room
to roam and exercise and are not meant to be kept inside all day. A fenced
in yard is recommended. Because of their instinct to herd and protect
livestock, they make excellent farm animals. |
| Health |
An overall healthy breed. Some
problems with hip and elbow dysplasia. |
