| Description |
This very energetic and intelligent
breed makes a great farm/herding dog. They are easy to train. They love
to work, run and be outdoors. They seem to crave exercise and running.
The can do well as a family pet but, due to their high energy level, they
are not recommended for homes with small children. They need to be socialized
with children, dogs and other pets at a young age. They might be aggressive
to smaller pets. Calm is not a word used to describe the Border Collie,
they don't know what relaxation means. They are not meant to be kept indoors
and will find ways to get rid of energy that you wouldn't like if kept
inside too long or if they are bored. If you are looking for a dog that
loves to run, explore, play or herd, this is a perfect dog for you. |
| Health |
Overall good health. Some problems
with hip dysplasia, epilepsy, progressive retinal atrophy and Collie Eye
Anomaly. |
