| Origin |

Bearded Collie is a descendent of the Polish Sheepdog. They were bred
to herd sheep and cattle in Scotland. The word collie means herding in
Scotland. In addition to herding, they have been used for tracking as
well. |
| Description |
The Bearded Collie is a people
dog and makes an excellent family pet. They are great with children and
other dogs, but need more socialization with other pets. They need plenty
of exercise and time to roam in the yard. They are outgoing, friendly,
loveable and easy to train. Training is recommended as they can be stubborn
at times without it. They require a lot of grooming or their hair will
get tangled and knotted. |
