Origin
The Azawakh is from the Sahel
region of Africa. They were originally dogs of royalty and were bred by
nomadic tribes to be hunters and watchdogs. They are considered to be
endangered today.
Description
This intelligent, elegant breed
is gentle and loving with his family and pets that he knows well. He is
instinctively wary of strangers and will not easily warm up to them. He
needs plenty of space to exercise and move about. The Azawakh is not meant
to be kept inside all day. They make excellent watchdogs.
